Hello Woman of the 21st Century!
If you are like most of us modern day women, you probably feel the pressure of having to do it all, be it all and have it all, now, perfectly and without a sweat… are you as exhausted and overwhelmed as the rest of us?
If so, the good news is that you’re not alone. We ALL feel this way.
The even better news is that I have found some pretty amazing women – NY times best selling authors, renowned actresses and teachers, featured guests on Oprah – who have figured out that life doesn’t have to be like this. And I invited them to get up close and personal with us… to share their personal struggles, triumphs and wisdom, girlfriend to girlfriend, on this series of 7 Self Love Studio interviews. Interviews you can download, read or listen to on the treadmill, while cooking, from your bed or in your car (scroll down for bios).
Self Love Studio is not your typical tele-series where the experts tell you how to live your life for an hour. This is girlfriend-to- girlfriend real-talk, where these women share their personal struggles and triumphs to be, do and have it all as 21st century women…. along with the wisdom and stories they’ve gained along the way. We throw in some questions, some truths and at the end, a big DARE you can take into your life… guaranteed to make you laugh, get uncomfortable and fall more in love with yourself than you could ever imagine!
And get inspired to fall in love with YOU!

“Recently I was asked if I ever take a moment to reflect on what I have accomplished. I was taken aback by the brazenness of the question. Who has time to observe such things when we are always in forward motion and looking toward the next thing? I confess, that was my initial reaction. Now I see the question as a call to action, to focus on gratitude. It's an internal pressure for me to realize my full potential and keep challenging myself... so I do things like yoga, take a bed day, or go to a matinee to take pressure off!”

“Most of us are indoctrinated NOT to believe, or live the following words: You Are Enough. You Have Enough. You Do Enough. So we feel pressure, urgency and scarcity. Which spells PUS, by the way. Relax into knowing that you cannot do it all, and become such a "full cup of self-love" that there is no more room for those kind of thoughts.”

“My life has changed dramatically since the death of my husband Richard Carlson, Author of the renown series "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff." In my memoir "Heartbroken Open" due April 2010, I speak out about holding the perfect life and how liberating it was not to have to do that any more. I realized I no longer had the perfect life to hold, and I somehow felt blessed by that fact...
The one thing I remind myself constantly is that this moment is the only one that matters! Living with presence takes the pressure off one hundred percent.”

“As I have grown in my work and inner life, I realized that too much emphasis was on DOING and accomplishing. Relaxing and being and balancing life and work was not really valued (in my family growing up in NY). To stop and slow down and integrate all aspect of life, to leave the type A approach behind from my family and also the NY energy has been a challenge for me and a conscious choice. Self love has involved taking time out in Hawaii and Florida and Colorado and stopping to examine my deeper core values and also heal and rest my body. It gets exhausting and your adrenals can burn out when you live at that high energy level and pace all the time.”
